Exciting News From Quaker House

We were excited to receive word this week that finally, after years of forging connections, Quaker House representatives were invited to speak at Fort Bragg. A chaplain from Fort Bragg invited Lynn and Steve of Quaker House to give a presentation on moral injury. The original plan was to have a presentation on moral injury for an entire battalion of 700 service members, but at the last minute, the chaplain’s commanders said no to the event. However, they did allow Lynn and Steve to present their program to a group of social workers, counselors, and psychologists who work with service members. The presentation was received warmly and with gratitude by the group. The chaplain videotaped the presentation to show to the commanders in hopes that they will come to understand and agree to let the chaplain share the video with the service members.

“We are so grateful that we can, at last, work together with the folks at Ft. Bragg to help heal our wounded victims of these long wars”
                                – Lynn Newsom, Co-Director of Quaker House
“Quaker House is a manifestation of the Friends’ Peace Testimony. Based in Fayetteville, NC, home of Ft. Bragg, Quaker House provides counseling and support to military service members who are questioning their role in the military; educates them, their families, and the public about military issues; and advocates for a more peaceful world”
